Arrived at Pencarnan just in time for lunch, checked the inshore shipping forecast and was on the water quite swiftly as the wind was W force 4 or 5 increasing 6 to gale 8 veering NW later.
Wind was already very strong and therefore only managed to get just past fisherman’s point, (the headland you see in the first picture above) before almost coming to a dead stop!
I paddled as far as I could into the wind and then turned round and headed back towards the beach surfing the swell on my way. With the wind behind me I managed a top speed of 10.6mph. Stayed and did a few of these circuits but eventually was beaten by the wind!
